Meet Dr. Michelle M. Hammond

Dr. Michelle Hammond
O.D., F.A.A.O

Dr. Michelle Hammond is an optometrist who provides comprehensive eye care. Her special fields of interest include the management of ocular disease, dry eye, post-operative care, and fitting various types of contact lenses such as multifocal, monovision, and rigid gas-permeable lenses.

Dr. Hammond received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. She then completed her post-doctoral residency in ocular disease and surgical co-management with an emphasis in geriatrics, low vision rehabilitation, and specialty contact lens at the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington and Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Kennewick, Washington. Dr. Hammond is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry (Dipl. ABO) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (F.A.A.O).

Dr. Hammond has volunteered at vision screenings with the Blind Center of Nevada and Care Harbor in Los Angeles and participated in a mission trip to St. Ann Parish, Jamaica through SEE International and the Alliance of Jamaican and American Humanitarians, where she provided eye exams for the community to diagnose and treat ocular disease and pre- and post-operative cataract surgery care.

In her free time away from the office, Dr. Hammond enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and long-distance running.
